Reconstructive surgery is performed on abnormal structures of the body,
caused by congenital defects, developmental abnormalities, trauma,
infection, tumors or disease. It is generally performed to improve
functions, but may also be done to approximate a normal appearance.
Reconstructive surgery is generally covered by most health insurance
policies, although coverage for specific procedures and levels
of coverage may vary greatly.
These areas usually involve surgical operations which may be reconstructive
or cosmetic, depending on each patient's situation. For example, eyelid
surgery (blepharoplasty) - a procedure normally performed to achieve
cosmetic improvement - may be covered if the eyelids are drooping severely
and obscuring a patient's vision.

A Few
of these procedures that are most common are ;
• Tummy Tuck
• Breast Augmentation
• Breast Lift
• Breast Reduction
• Male Breast Reduction

- Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck)
Abdominoplasty, known more commonly as a "tummy tuck," is
a major surgical procedure to remove excess skin and fat
from the middle and lower abdomen and to tighten the muscles
of the
abdominal
wall.
The procedure can dramatically reduce the appearance of
a protruding abdomen. But bear in mind, it does produce a permanent
scar,
which, depending on the extent of the original problem and
the
surgery
required to correct it, can extend from hip to hip. > click

- Breast Augmentation
Breast augmentation, technically known as augmentation mammoplasty,
is a surgical procedure to enhance the size and shape of
a woman's breast for a number of reasons such as to enhancement
the body
contour of a woman who, for personal reasons, feels her breast
size is too
small, to correct a reduction in breast volume after pregnancy,
to balance a difference in breast size, or as a reconstructive
technique
following breast surgery. By inserting an implant behind
each breast, surgeons are able to increase a woman's bust line
by one or more bra cup sizes. > click for more info
- Breast Lift
Over the years, factors such as pregnancy, nursing, and the force
of gravity take their toll on a woman's breasts. As the skin
loses its elasticity, the breasts often lose their shape and firmness
and begin to sag. Breast lift, or mastopexy, is a surgical procedure
to raise and reshape sagging breasts--at least, for a time. (No
surgery can permanently delay the effects of gravity.) Mastopexy
can also reduce the size of the areola, the darker skin surrounding
the nipple. If your breasts are small or have lost volume--for
example, after pregnancy--breast implants inserted in conjunction
with mastopexy can increase both their firmness and their size. > click

- Breast Reduction
Women with very large, pendulous breasts may experience a variety
of medical problems caused by the excessive weight-from back
and neck pain and skin irritation to skeletal deformities and
breathing
problems. Bra straps may leave indentations in their shoulders.
And unusually large breasts can make a woman-or a teenage girl-feel
extremely self-conscious.
Breast reduction, technically known as reduction mammaplasty,
is designed for such women. The procedure removes fat,
glandular tissue,
and skin from the breasts, making them smaller, lighter,
and firmer. It can also reduce the size of the areola, the darker
skin surrounding
the nipple. The goal is to give the woman smaller, better-shaped
breasts in proportion with the rest of her body. > click for

- Male Breast Reduction
Gynecomastia is a medical term that comes from the Greek
words for "women-like
breasts." Though this oddly named condition is rarely
talked about, it's actually quite common. Gynecomastia
affects an estimated
40 to 60 percent of men. It may affect only one breast
or both. Though certain drugs and medical problems have
been
linked
with male breast
over development, there is no known cause in the vast majority
of cases.
For men who feel self-conscious about their appearance, breast-reduction
surgery can help. The procedure removes fat and or glandular
tissue from the breasts, and in extreme cases removes excess
skin, resulting
in a chest that is flatter, firmer, and better contoured. > click
